Just Another Strange Day

It has been kind of a strange day today for some reason.  I went to bed at midnight last night and I got up the first time around 7:30.  Being awake did not last long however as I was back in bed by 9 and slept until 12:30 this afternoon.  And it is still a little slow going as the day moves along.  I still have not gotten back into the news cycle so I really do not know what is going on outside my little sphere of activities.  I am sure the world will continue on its merry way whether or not I am paying attention, lol.

No matter what may or may not be happening around the world, there is always time for beautiful music and magnificent men.  Both of which are here in abundance today.  Your Tuesday Musical Moment features the music of one of the most renown of violinist/composers the world has had the pleasure of knowing, Nicolo Paganini.  He was an Italian violinist and a composer, considered by many as the greatest of all time. He received music lessons from his father before he was 6 years old and later from the best instructors in Genoa. He began to perform in public and composed his first sonata in 1790. In 1795 he went to Parma, Italy to study but the teachers there told him they could do nothing more for him. He then commenced on a course of self-training so rigorous that he often played 15 hours a day. In 1797 he started his concert tours, which for many years consisted of triumph after triumph. From 1805 to 1808 he was the court solo violinist at Lucca, appointed by Napoleon's sister Elisa Bacciocchi. In 1809 Nicolo became a free-lance soloist performing his own music.  With a performance by Uto Ughi as Soloist and Conducting the Orchestra de Camera di Santa Cecilia, Paganini's Violin Concerto Number 1 is a great introduction to his mastery and mystery.  Number 1 is the first of six brilliant concerti penned by Paganini along with his 24 Caprices among a great many other compositions.  You may hear his Violin Concerto Number 4 with a performance by the London Philharmonic under the baton of Charles Dutoit with Salvatore Accardo as the Soloist over on my tumblr.

On display below  the video is a collection of lithesome and luscious lads in evocative poses sure to lure you into wayward thoughts at the least in this edition of Tuesday's Temptations.  There is additional temptation to be found in the Hottie of the Day! over on my tumblr.  Thanks for the visit, see you again soon.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
