I got off at three this morning and have been leisurely doing the legwork for today's post while winding down from that long day's journey into night. Now I can tell you about the highlight of my day, my luncheon date with Bailey Bradford and Super Teen! After working the lunch hour from 11 to 1 I met up with BB & ST about 1:15 at Trevino's on Montgomery Street, about a mile south of my store. Trevino's is one of those small restaurants which features delicious, reasonably priced authentic Mexican Cuisine along with excellent service which is attentive yet not intrusive. I had not eaten there before yesterday, but have driven past it on the way to work for the last year and have wanted to test the waters so to speak for a long time. I was in no way disappointed with any aspect of our visit there. They allowed us to have a 3 hour catching up with each other lunch without trying to rush us out the door. When BB, ST & Me get together, we have a good old fashion party dishing tea, laughing and generally enjoying each others' company while stuffing ourselves with Chips, Salsa, Pico de Gallo, Queso, Fish Tacos and Tamales along with the customary sides of refried beans and Spanish Rice. Oh, yeah and some yummylicious Sopapillas served warm with ice cream all sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for dessert. The restaurant only has about 15 tables, however they have a patio for al fresco dining to supplement their indoor seating. It was 90 degrees out so we opted for the A/C inside.
We were seated at table set with white linen and good stainless steel flatware. Our server was gracious and attentive yet she did not intrude on our little reunion allowing us a good long visit which really wasn't long enough. However, I had to go back to work and they still had to drive back to the Anatole in Dallas where they were attending the Anime' Convention being held there. Our conversation wandered around the world and back again while we dined on Margaritas and some Great Mexican Food. While BB and I email quite frequently, we both savor the friendship we have developed and the immense joy our little face to face visit engendered. I would like to say thanks again to BB & ST for the wonderful reunion we had. We really should do this more often, ya know?
