This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, the official start of the Summer Grilling Season where folks in these parts get down to some serious backyard barbecue action over the course of the 3 day Holiday. From backyards to beaches, and Picnics in the Park to Lounging at Lakeside, no matter where you have your cookout, there is sure to be plenty of great eats to be had by all. For those of you who have not yet had the chance to try one of the grill favorites around here, Uncle Gerry's Awesome Burgers, I thought I would re-post the recipe just in time to add these epicurean delights to your cookout agenda.
You will need:
1 small onion finely chopped or onion powder to taste
3/4 cup of Grated Parmesan Cheese
3.4 cup of Italian seasoned Bread Crumbs
1 egg
1 pound Ground Beef
1/2 pound Pork Sausage
1/4 cup Catsup
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until all are evenly distributed throughout, form into 4 balls of equal size, then form patties from the 4 balls.
Grill to taste and top with your favorite toppings like cheese, bacon and/or jalapenos, pickle, onions, lettuce and tomato. Mustard, Mayo or Catsup? Have you got the fire started yet?
At home or Away some great sides are a variety of chips and dip, mustard potato salad, Pork and beans, maybe even some deviled egg if you've a mind.
Whatever your plans, I hope you have a Fabulous Weekend.
