The Message

I have written many times in these pages of the un-Christ-like behavior of many purported 'Christian' organizations.  Folks like Westboro Baptist Church, the Family Research Council, the American Family Association, Focus on the Family et al.  There are, however, a growing number of Christians and churches that actually 'get' the message of Christ and act accordingly.  The whole point of Christianity is, after all, to strive to become more Christ like in word, thought and deed.  Christ himself said the greatest commandments were to love God with all your heart, mind and soul and your neighbor as yourself.  This does not mean to club them over the head with scriptures because of your perception of their sin.  I would like to point you to a couple of well written blog posts which expound on this very point.  The first is Why One Conservative Christian Won't Shut Up About Gay Rights written by a Christian lady in Mississippi by the name of Robin O'Bryant.  Ms O'Bryant eloquently states her case for Compassionate Christianity and her mission to love all and share God's love with all.  It is an excellent read and in her post, Ms O'Bryant points to another well written blog post by Glennon Doyle Melton, Put Down the Stone, which further expands the discussion of Compassionate Christianity using the parable of the adultress whose accusers were preparing to stone her for her sin.  Addressing her accusers, Jesus said 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone' causing those accusers to hang their heads in shame and walk away.  Then Jesus forgave the woman her sins and sent her along her way with 'Go and sin no more'.  Both of these Christian ladies have gotten the message of Christ and are doing their best to spread the love of God to those with whom they come in contact.  Would that there would be multitudes more like them in the world.  It would be a much better world if there were.

For your Tuesday Musical Moment, I have some more Mozart for you with four concerti for four different instruments.  Included in the play list are the Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in G Major, K 313; Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra in G Major, K314; Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra in D Flat Major, K191 and Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in C Major, K622.  Today's performance is by the Orquestra de Cadaques under the baton of Sir Neville Marriner featuring soloists Jaime Martin on Flute, Christopher Cowie on Oboe, David Tomas on Bassoon and Joan Enric Lluna on Clarinet.  For something a little different, head over to my tumblr for the Violin Concerto in B Minor, Opus 7, Number 2, 'La Campanella' by Nicolo Paganini.

Then to feed your desire for beautiful art in the male form, I have a collection of terrifically torrid torsos and tushes to serve as your Tuesday's Temptations.  There is also the Hottie of the Day! over on my tumblr for further inspiration.  Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me, see you again soon.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
