Thursday News and Notes

I found a few notable things as I was wandering around the web which I would like to share with you today.  If you remember around this time last year, the raging debate was whether or not the Boy Scouts would allow openly gay boys to become members.  The decision was ultimately made to allow openly gay boys to participate.  Now we have our first active openly gay Eagle Scout in Pascal Tessier who hails from the marriage equality state of Maryland.  The sad news is that on August 5 this year, Pascal turns 18 and will no longer be welcome in the BSA.  Although gay boys are allowed to participate, once they reach adulthood being gay is still verboten for Scout Leaders.  Tessier says that he is still going to apply to be a Scout Leader, let's hope they come to their senses over at the BSA and let him serve.  

Then there are the 11 Coming Out Stories That Will Warm Your Heart, The 12 Dating Behaviors I'm Done With and the 4 Crazy Gay Marriage Predictions That Never Came True.  The best thing I discovered was from an old white guy in Texas (who just so happens to be my favorite local sports caster).  In response to all the hubbub surrounding the coming out of Missouri Defensive End and NFL prospect Michael Sam on Monday, Dale Hansen had this to say:
