Lazy Tuesday

I have been quite lazy today, just fiddling around the house not really doing anything at all just because it is my day off.  I have read all my news feeds, however nothing has tripped my trigger enough to comment on it or share it with my little electronic world.  I am sure I could find something to bitch about, but trying to stay in the Spirit of the Season I will not do so.  That pretty much leaves me with the Music and the Men to share with you today and so I shall.

I heard the complete Symphony Number 5 by Ludwig von Beethoven on the local classical station yesterday afternoon and thought that it would be a good idea to find a great performance on video to share with you.  Beethoven wrote several symphonic pieces and I would be hard pressed to choose between Number 5 or Number 9 as a favorite.  It would really be just a coin toss as I enjoy both of them immensely.  I found the following live concert performance of Number 5 by the German Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Bremen under the baton of Paavo Jarvi to be just the thing to fill the bill today.  At the age of 54, Beethoven was introduced to the 11 year old piano virtuoso Franz Liszt.  Liszt so admired Beethoven and his music that he transcribed the entire repertoire of Beethoven's symphonies for piano.  Captured in a live concert recording, Italian Pianist Giovanni Bellucci  delivers a dynamic performance of Liszt's transcription of Beethoven's Symphony Number 5 which you will find posted over on my tumblr.

Then to fulfill your required daily allotment of man candy, there is cozy collection of beautiful beaus, buddies and brothers in this week's edition of Two For Tuesday.  Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me, we will see you next time and as always, Enjoy!
