For the first time in years and years and years, I have both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off!  I am pretty stoked about this, after all it really doesn't happen to me all that often, so I will enjoy it while I can.  I slept late this morning, later than I wanted to as I have a couple of things to do yet, but all in good time.  Because I slept late, I have not read the newsy things in my reader making it nigh on impossible for me to make an intelligent comment about the news of the day.  Therefore I shall refrain from opening my mouth and inserting my foot!
The Nutcracker is a two-act ballet, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (op. 71). The libretto is adapted from E.T.A. Hoffmann's story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. It was given its première at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on Sunday, 18 December 1892, on a double-bill with Tchaikovsky's opera, Iolanta.  For your Christmas Eve Sounds of the Season, I have the complete soundtrack to The Nutcracker with a performance by the RTV Moscow Orchestra under the baton of
