The last 24 hours have been a really positive time of progress around here. After getting yesterday's post up, I was getting ready to go check into the possibility of transferring to a store on the west side of town and then out to the new apartment complex to take a look at our actual unit (I had only seen the model) when my Mother called. She wanted to wish me an early Happy Birthday and to make sure I got over to her place to pick up the present she had for me. So I added a trip to Mom's to my morning agenda. I took off to head to the west side of town to check out the stores. I started at the nearest one located just off the main thoroughfare leading to the new apartments and proceeded west towards the new place. There are 5 or 6 7-Elevens just on the main street between where I started and the new place, so the possibilities of obtaining a position at any one of them are very good. There are also two branch locations of my bank on the main thoroughfare between where I started and the new place. One of them is in an historic art deco former theater that has been redone into the bank branch. There are also a myriad of shopping and entertainment locations all along the main drag, which is much different than where we are now. This is a very good thing indeed.
My next stop was at the new apartment complex where I checked out our actual unit. The location within the complex is darn near perfect as the unit is on the back side of a building and faces an open field, a creek bed and the back side of some houses on the other side of the creek. It is an end unit, downstairs and the layout inside is really well done. The living area, which will be the new home of Nichevo, and the patio are two steps down from the rest of the apartment. The entry, dining area and hallway have dark wood flooring with tile in the kitchen and bathroom and carpet in the living area and the bedroom. We are getting new carpet and new wood floors installed before we move in. The walls are not stark apartment, white but a color somewhere between taupe and mauve, which makes it more like a home instead of an apartment. Across the parking lot in front of our building is the laundry room, so we will not have to leave the complex to do laundry as I do now. The complex also has two pools which I am sure we will make some use off as the summer comes along. I stopped into the office to speak with the leasing agent just to make sure everything was scheduled correctly and will be ready for us next week when time for the actual move takes place. Everything seem to be in order so I left and headed over to my Mother's house.
It is only a 15 minute drive from door to door, which is about half the time it takes now. Mother was doing well and gave me my birthday present. She gave me an official Tony Romo Game Day jersey which I just loved. I have never had a game day jersey, so it was a nice surprise. Now that I have mine, the whole family has identical jersey's and so we are going to all get together sometime before football season and take a family portrait in our jersey's. I will post that when it happens. I will also post pictures of the new place when we get unpacked and settled in so you all can see what the new place looks like. When Mother's hospice lady arrived, I left them to do their thing and headed home for some much needed rest after working all night and having a busy morning.
That brings us to today's Musical Moment and the photo review you all are chomping at the bit to see. Your Musical Moment today is another 'best of'' compilation, this time featuring the music of Franz Joseph Haydn. Included in the play list are Symphony Number 45 in F Sharp Minor, Symphony 46 in B Major, Symphony 48 in C Major, Symphony 49 in F Minor and String Quartet Number 3 in C Major, Opus 76 "Emperor". Today's performance is by the S. Sound Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Anonimo Bartolino with the selections taken from this CD.
Then comes the review you all are waiting for which contains 80 examples of the fine art of the male form selected from the over 200 photographs I collected this week. I think you will find something for everyone in this collection as you cruise and peruse your way down the page. Thanks for spending part of your holiday weekend here at Nichevo, see you again on Monday as we celebrate Memorial Day and my birthday all rolled into one post. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
