Over the weekend, I finished the final chapter of one of my stories 'Love On The Rocks' by Marcus McNally which has been serialized over the last few months at CRVBoy. 'Love On The Rocks' tells the story of a Publicly Closeted Gay Australian Rock Star, Tyson Hill, his family, friends and his entourage which includes Music Industry Lawyer Michael Stewart with whom he falls in love. Major characters in the story are Ty's brothers Lachlan and Scottie, his parents Frank and Dot, his manager/agent Vince, his publicist Monique, Michael's ne'er do well brother Steve, Ellie who becomes the love of Lachlan's life and Simon who sweeps Scottie out of the closet and into his arms. If 'Love On The Rocks' was a book in print form, it would be a real 'page turner'. You, however, can read the whole thing without having to wait a week or two for the next chapter like I did. I am eagerly awaiting the sequel which is set 5 years into the future from where 'Love On The Rocks' leaves off. The characters are fully developed by author McNally and the story is full of twists, turns and surprises which left me chomping at the bits for the next chapter at the end of each chapter I read.
As you may surmise, Music plays a large part of the story as Ty is not only a singer but a songwriter as well. The story explores the creative process used by Ty to come up with his hits as well as telling the readers about some of the songs that influenced Ty along the way. One of the devices author McNally used to help tell the story was the embedding of some of the songs at the end of some chapters. These songs help to tell the Tyson Hill and Michael Stewart story, come in a
variety of genres but are mostly romantic in theme. They illustrate
different events in the story and the development of Ty and Mike's
loving committed relationship. As a departure from my usual Classical Music Moment, I built a play list of these songs to create your Musical Moment for today. The complete play list can be found here. Come along on the musical journey through the life and loves, family and friends of Tyson Hill and Michael Stewart.
While on your musical journey, you might want to cruise down the page to take in the men in today's new eye candy theme which also ties into the story somewhat. Instead of my usual Monday's Undies, today's theme is Lovers and Fuckers and features photos of men turning up the heat while enjoying the pleasuring of each other. Methinks you will like it. Thanks for spending part of your Monday here at Nichevo, see you again tomorrow. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
