For Valentine's Day I want to point you to the story by Rob Watson, 'As a Gay Family Formed, Two Little Best Friends Became Brothers', a heart warming story of love, persistence and happiness. The story illustrates one of the ways we as Gay folks form Families of Choice, much to the chagrin of those who oppose our Equality in any manner, but especially vehemently in regards to Marriage Equality. Rob and his family personify the happiness that can be found when two people love each other and through that love forge a family bond that adds up to way more than the sum of its parts. Everything those who oppose our Equality says can't happen if we are allowed to marry the one we love. Amazing how we can do that and prove that our opponents lie, deceive and discriminate because they themselves are incapable of extending love beyond their narrow point of view. Love is Love and we shall continue to Love and pursue the happiness that we are supposed to have the right to do. The day is coming soon when those rights will be recognized as the law of the land as long as we keep putting one foot in front of the other, moving forward one step at a time into the bright future we all deserve.
