Why is it that when you are not feeling up to snuff, everyone and everything seems to have entered into a conspiracy to make life difficult and/or frustrate you? This is of course a rhetorical question, however it does seem that Blogger and Picasa3 were in cahoots to make putting together a post maddeningly infuriating. In what would usually take me 5 minutes to do, today took upwards of two hours of fits and starts, undoes and redoes. I finally got all the photographs to post properly, but I was ready to spit nails by the time I got it done. Never the less, I am now finally ready to put pen to page so to speak and impart what pearls of wisdom spew forth from my foggy and beleaguered brain. I have managed to clear my feed reader with help from a new tool that Will found for me.
If you are like me and use Firefox in one of its many iterations as your browser of choice, then this little tool can make collecting images easier and quicker. Will was searching for a way to make my task of gathering multiple photographs from multiple sources easy to accomplish in a more time efficient manner. He found what he was looking for in this article on lifehacker.com. Basically, the extension, 'saves images', from developer Lumox, allows you to save any number of images to a folder of your choice quickly and easily. I get a lot of photographs in my reader, which instead of right click, save, repeat of each individual photograph, I can open each photo in a separate tab then select a tab to the left of the tabs with photos, right click anywhere on the page, select saves images, choose the option save images in tabs to the right, and voila all images are saved to the designated folder. I also chose the option to have this extension close the tabs after saving which saves me from having to close each one individually before moving on to the next group of photographs.
Infinitely customizable to fit your particular preferences, this extension is going to save me a lot of time from here forward. This little tool is why I have cleared my feed reader of its backlog in such a timely fashion. This extension works anyplace that Firefox does (Windows, Mac, Linux). Just another great reason to use Firefox as your browser of choice instead of the evil empire's inept explorer which is foisted upon most Windows users that don't know how to replace the cumbersome beast with something more useful. Do your friends a favor and tell them there is life beyond MS/IE and other evils promulgated and pushed on you by Darth Gates and crew.
Your play list for today combines two of my favorite things about classical music, Antonio Vivaldi and the Cello. All week we have been listening to various Concerti and today is no different. Included in this play list are Cello Concerti RV 412, 419, 404, 399, 486, 398 and 410 with the performance by The City of London Sinfonia, Nicolaus Kraemer Conductor and on Harpsichord and featuring Raphael Wallfisch on Solo Cello.
