Your Holiday Mom

While going through my feeds, I ran across this story at the Huffington Post about Your Holiday MomYourHolidayMom.com is a new website that features 40 moms (a few of them who are actually dads) with 40 messages of holiday hope and acceptance for all children who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning.  What a wonderful idea that the sites founder, Robin Rice, has come up with.  In the interview for the Huffington Post story, she says "Thirty years ago, I lost my little brother to suicide because he 'feared' he was gay. Today, I still feel that hole in my heart, and so I do whatever I can to support LGBTQ youth.”  For any of you out there (young or not) who have lost their Moms or whose Mom's have 'lost' them, this site provides "incredible messages of acceptance".  There are 40 messages from 40 Moms (and Dads) with a new message featured each day until January 13, 2013.  For a daily dose of Holiday Cheer, I would encourage you to visit Your Holiday Mom and be uplifted.  I can think of now better gift to give from one's heart than support, acceptance and encouragement to LGBTQ youth (or anyone that needs a 'hug from Mom (or Dad)').

For your aural pleasure, your musical interlude for this Hump Day features the Opus 27 String Quintets by Luigi Boccherini.  Unfortunately the video has no description, therefore I cannot tell you anymore than what I have, nor can I identify the performers.  In any case it is a wonderful hour of soothing strings to help you over the hump and headed for the weekend in a less frazzled state of mind.  In addition to this basket of Boccherini,  there is a host of heavenly Hump Day Hunks lounging about the page after the video for your visual appreciation.  Thanks for the visit, see you tomorrow.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
