I really have a lot of things to share with you today, so this will be a a rather lengthy post. I am sure you will not mind when I reveal all that I have to share. I guess we should start with the topic I have been on about for the last couple of days. For all the trepidation and anxiety that preceded the actual visit to my Mother for Christmas, the visit itself I must say was a total success. I arrived at the appointed hour, we both stuck to safe subjects and avoided any recriminations of any sort. We had our own private Christmas celebration and we both enjoyed our time together. When I arrived, Mother had just returned from her weekly appointment with her hairdresser, she has used the same lady for about 40 years now, so she was dolled up and looking good for 82. She liked what I got her which was a gift card for Albertson's where she does the majority of her shopping and get her prescriptions. I had opted for the practical because what do you get your Mother when she already has two of everything else or more? I loved the several things she got me, although on her income it must have taken a miracle of budgetary planning. She got me an official Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt where the "Cowboys" and the "Blue Star" were appliques which were stitched on rather than screen printed, a couple of pair of this neat sock for folks like us with diabetes or circulatory problems in their extremities. In fact I am wearing a pair now and they are very comfortable. She also loaded me up with chicken and stuffing makings for Christmas dinner and cornbread and black eyed peas (an old Southern tradition) for new years along with various and sundry toiletry items that always come in handy. She also gave me an old Polaroid snapshot of me when I was somewhere around 16 and headed off to the church 'Sweetheart' banquet with a young lady which I will not share with you for fear of scaring the bejesus out of you, lol. We talked about all sort so things and people but nothing that was the least bit controversial, so the conversation was quite pleasant. By the time I left I was in a joyous mood, having finally caught a little bit of the Christmas Spirit which has been so lacking in my life of late. So much so I have made up a couple of great play lists to share with you on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which I am sure you will enjoy as well as today's Saturday Soundtrack.
I have also finally caught all my feeds up and have some things from there to share with you by way of some links that you can check out when you have some time later. These are the most significant of things gleaned from my feeds which I thought might be of interest to you and they are in no particular order:
Your Saturday Soundtrack play list for today contains two videos with music by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. The first has 5 Concerti for Flute and Orchestra with a performance by the C P E Bach Orchestra conducted by Hartmut Haenchen featuring Eckart Haupt on Flute. The painting in the first video is "Flute Recital" by Jean Baptiste Pater. The second video is Concerti for Transverse Flute with a performance by Arte dei Suonatori featuring Alexis Kossenko on Transverse Flute. The painting in the second video is "Satyr Playing Flute" by Jacob Jordaens.
Thank you for spending part of your holiday weekend here at Nichevo. Most of you will be off for some or all of Monday and Tuesday as you celebrate Christmas, however, yours truly has some goodies gathered to put under your tree which I will share with you when you stop by on Monday and Tuesday. I have to work both days, that is why I am getting this all together ahead of time for you guys. I look forward to seeing you Christmas Eve as our next meeting point. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

It was an especially outstanding week for gathering photographs, of which I garnered 1034. That does make today's review larger than usual at 113 works of art in male form. It took a bit to go through them all and decide which ones I would share with you from so many outstanding photographs in the collection. I am sure you will agree my efforts were worthwhile by the time you get to the bottom of the page as you linger, cruise and peruse these exquisite examples of photographic art on your way there.
