I got a surprise just after I got home from work when the boss sent me a text telling me to take tonight off. I text him back asking about the rest of the week to which he replied he would let me know as he is reworking the schedule. Now I don't know if this means he is going to cut me back to 4 days again or just changing my days around. I guess we will just have to wait and see what he comes up with.
This is one of those glorious spring days that is neither too warm or too cool with bright sunshine. I love sitting on my balcony on days like this with the morning sun filtering through the tree leaves. For living in the city, there is a surprising amount of wild life that passes by my balcony. There are lots of birds, of course, singing sweetly in the light breeze. The most striking of these is the pair of Cardinals that live nearby. There is also the friendly opossum that wanders through at random times along with various squirrels and lizards. We have a hive of honey bees somewhere close by also. They were hot and heavy after the small flowering buds on the tree just off my balcony, but I think they got all the pollen because they have seemed to move on to other pastures. Because of the abundance of trees out side my railing, what I don't see is a lot of people or apartments, although I know they are there. It is like I have my own little slice of nature that rarely gets intruded upon where I can just sit with my wireless headphones on listening to music as well as the birdsong and ruminate on the world at large or my world in particular. When I finish this post up, I will once again return to my balcony to fritter away my morning communing with nature.
Before I can begin my frittering, I guess I should tell you about the music and the men for today. I opened my You Tube page and found quite a few interesting things, among them today's video selection of Symphony Number 1 in C Minor by Alberic Magnard (dedicated to his mentor Vincent D'Indy). Today's performance is by the Malmo Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Thomas Sanderling. Then in my normal fashion, after the video are some prime examples of modern manhood, more or less clad in their Monday's Undies just waiting for you to take a look/see. That should get your Monday off to a good start and now I can go play in the sunshine and revel in an unexpected day off. Thanks for stopping in to say hello, see you again tomorrow. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
