Best of the Web This Week

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you bonnie lads out there!  After a good long sleep yesterday, I got up and set to the task of clearing my Google Reader of its backlog of over 500 posts which I managed to do in the course of a few hours of dedicated effort.  I am still woefully behind on my serialized stories that I follow, however one step at a time and I will eventually catch everything up.  After clearing my reader, I ended up with over 1000 photographs to winnow through to select the best for today's review.  I think you will like the results as you scroll down the page.  In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I have a special video put together by Glen Hoban.  The video contains a collection of Celtic music panflute videos that Glen has uploaded to YouTube. They range from Irish 'Humour' Pieces ("The Black Velvet Band") to 6th century Gaelic Hymns ("Oh Lord, I Sing Thy Praises"). Most of the recordings were done underneath the dome of the Manitoba Legislature, which has very good acoustics for the panflute. Some of the recordings are from his CD and were professionally recorded and engineered, more of them are recorded by him using a Zoom H4.  The complete play list can be found here.  After the video are more than a hundred fantastically fit fellows on display in various states of dress (or undress as the case my be) for you to drool over as you  listen.  Thanks for the visit, have a great weekend but don't drink too much green beer.  See you all on Monday.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
