Retro Monday

It has been an interesting couple of days since last we spoke.  Saturday night was sorta strange as it was really stormy and all the would be party people stayed home and out of the rain.  The power went out all around us, but we remained unaffected at the store.  A blazing bastion of light in  an otherwise dark section of the city.  However it was raining too hard for man or beast to be out and about, so mostly they weren't.  I arrived home after my shift to find water pooling in the cabinet underneath the bathroom sink and dripping onto my nice wood floors.  It seems the cold water line had sprung a leak.  Then in the kitchen, the hot water valve was leaking like a sieve.  Thankfully my working buddy Sean had loaned me a 4 CD box set of the Great Classical Composers, so my nerves were soothed by the sounds of Beethoven, Strauss, Mozart and Tchaikovsky while dealing with all the water problems.  I did manage to get the headphones on and sit on the balcony to watch the rain patter down the little arbor scene while some birds flitted about.  The east facing balcony is one of the best features of the new place, least ways I enjoy it a whole lot.  It is sorta my quiet place as Will is not much for coming outside, so I sorta have it to myself.  I have contracted a little bit of congestion, so I took some generic Day Quill before going to work last night and I had medicine head all night.  Don't know which is worse, the congestion or the medicine head, lol.  Anyway, when I arrived home I went out to my patio for a quiet smoke and promptly fell into a cat nap.  Will woke me up when he poked his head out to see if I had anything to add to the trash bag he was fixing to take out.  I then came inside and noticed that the clock on my computer was stuck at 11:06 PM and it subsequently would not boot up at all.  Luckily, all that it needed was a new CMOS battery which I found at the neighborhood Kroger (2 for $3) and I was soon back up and ready to get to blogging.

After listening to the the classical masters all morning, I decided I would go in search of classic music of another sort by revisiting the songs of my youth.  I found a treasure trove of golden oldies on You Tube and built a play list that I hope you will enjoy.  These are songs I liked when I was young and still do. Songs included are Daydream Believer by the Monkees, The Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding, Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by the Animals, Happy Together by the Turtles, California Dreamin by The Mamas and The Papas, The Letter by The Box Tops, Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers, Light My Fire by The Doors, A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum and finally American Pie by Don McLean.  I also came up with a really cool thing for tomorrow's post so you will have to tune in to discover what it is that I came up with.  Following today's play list is your usual assortment of gorgeous guys cavorting about in their Monday's Undies just to get your libido in shape for the week.  Thanks for choosing to spend some time with me today.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
