Today is Hump Day and the Day before the big move. It really is not that big a chore now as most everything but the big furniture pieces has been moved. It has been a really hellish ordeal at times, but as the moment draws near, I find myself anxious to just get over with so we can get back to "normal" living. I do think we have a real chance at being happy there and it is definitely a step up from the old place. Now comes the hard part, the last few hours of anticipation before reality catches up with the fantasy. Then it will be time to rest and recuperate from all the extemporaneous crap that has gone along with what should have been a relatively simple operation complicated mostly by actions and non actions on the part of the apartment complex itself. However, having forced them to comply to the provisions of the lease and the laws of the state of Texas, I think Will and I have won the battle albeit with some struggles. I think it will definitely be worth the effort. Now for some entertainment! I have decided to repost a play list, but as I listened to it earlier, I knew it would be worth the reprise. The replay features Rinat Ibragimov, principal double bass of the London Symphony Orchestra together with Pianist Catherine Edwards, performing Jan Křtitel Vaňhal's Double Bass Concerto and Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf's Double Bass Concerto, both originally written in E Sharp Major but performed here a semitone lower. These popular pieces of double bass repertoire are commonly called for in auditions, and here Rinat demonstrates their performance using the original bass part and the Viennese Tuning that would have been in vogue at the time of their composition. Rinat plays a d-bass by Matheus Albany, a gift from his colleague and friend Alexander Stepanov. He uses Pirastro Eudoxa strings. The videos are followed by some excellent examples of Random Hotness that by any standard would be extremely humpable, just perfect for Hump Day. Thank you for choosing to spend part of your day with me. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
