Will and I will not be moving tomorrow as we had planned as the apartment into which we are supposedly moving in is not ready for our occupancy. This whole week has been such a traumatically stressful experience from our initial notification of the necessity for the move to the present moment. It has been so stressful that I in fact went bat shit crazy and cursed the rather petulant little bimbo leasing agent who was so blithely dismissing our concerns. The apartment in question has several issues that have yet to be resolved. At the time I went off on little miss bimbo, I still had not been allowed to even view the unit. I had several concerns just from looking at it from the outside. Among them was the fact that the front window had been left open to the elements all weekend during a series of thunder storms and rain; the kitchen window which was boarded up (we have since discovered it indeed was broken and not replaced); and the air conditioning unit for that apartment was a wire frame containing a fan blade, a compressor and a mound of dirt with no coils or outer covering. There is also the issue of the complex not having secured the necessary permits to allow an electric meter to be installed so I could get the service transferred and turned on. I found this out when I called to cancel the transfer because the unit was not ready for move in on Tuesday as promised. In fact it will not be ready until some time next week. On Wednesday around 10:30 AM, the manager finally took us to view the inside of the apartment. It still has the owner's furniture with in it. While the unit is larger than our present one and in better condition internally, there are still issues to be resolved. The new kitchen appliances have yet to be installed and the furniture removed and the permits still have not been obtained. The flooring however is definitely better than where we now reside with a premium grade carpet not usually found in apartments probably due to the owner being the one time occupant and the non carpeted areas covered in a nice simulated wood vinyl tile. We have been promised the kitchen window will be replaced, new kitchen appliances, a new air conditioner unit and of course the ability to have the electric service connected by obtaining the necessary permits from the city for the installation of an electric meter. This has been so stressful and depressing, I am sure when I go to the doctor this morning, my blood pressure will probably blow the measuring device up. I feel somewhat more assured that things will be better since viewing the unit from the inside, however I will be very diligently observing the process and progress of the resolution to all of our issues before I even begin to move any item into the new unit. I will also only deal with the manager in the future and not the petulant little bimbo who sits at the front desk polishing her nails and listening to crappy music.
Now that I have finished ranting, I will move on to the more pleasant parts of this post. For today's musical selection, I would like to introduce you to one of the lessor know composers of the late baroque period. Johann Gottlieb Graun (1702-1771) was one of the composers in Frederick the Great's court who helped establish the early Classical style. He was a student of Johann Georg Pisendel and later Guiseppe Tartini. He was regarded as one of the leading violinists in Germany of his time and he taught violin to Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, son of Johann Sebastien . The many instrumental works he wrote include 50 sinfonia, 60 concertos, and 50 trio sonatas of which I have an example of all three genre in this play list. First is the Sinfonia in C major for 2 violins, viola, and basso continuo followed by the Trio Sonata in G major for flute (recorder), violin, and basso continuo. Completing the play list is the Concerto in F major for flute (recorder), 2 violins, viola, and basso continuo, this recording is done on a recorder rather than the flute as the trio was. Unfortunately, the artists performing these works were not listed in the video descriptions, however all three are flawlessly played. While you are being treated to the aural pleasure of the music, you can feast your eyes upon the multiple magnificent Men In Jeans lounging about the page below the videos. Thanks for listening to my rant, have a fabulous day today and join me again tomorrow for more music, men and more. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
