The computer at work ate itself at 1:23 AM just as I was trying to ring up a gasoline sale. The ISP not only went off line but because I was in the middle of a sale, it discombobulated the register also. Therefore, for about 3 hours I could not process credit or debit cards or sell gasoline. This, of course, caused some consternation on the part of my customers as I run the only all night store and gas facility in the neighborhood. It did make for an interesting night, but all is well that ends well and about 4 AM, IT had the problem resolved, which is a good thing as morning rush without gas or the ability to process plastic would have been a disaster. As it was I just lost a few sales and had to extend a little credit to a couple of regular customers until the problem was rectified. At any rate, when I was on the way to work, I just missed today's musical selection on the radio as played in concert by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on Sunday Night in the local classical station's Encore Concert series. I did get in on the interview of the soloist, so I thought I would look up the piece and I found an excellent recording of it on You Tube. The piece, The Oboe Concerto in D Major by Richard Strauss, was written in 1945 when Strauss was 81 at the behest of the late John de Lancie, principle Oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra until his retirement in 1977. While not played as often as some concertos, it is still a beautiful piece of music and this performance featuring Pauline Oostenrijk on Oboe with Neeme Jarvi conducting The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra is excellent. Then, when I went to select photographs for today's post, I decided to set your heart rate to jumping with some Sexy Sports Studs which follow the video as in traditional here at Nichevo. Thanks for stopping by to visit, come back tomorrow to see what Hump Day will bring around to entertain you. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
