Mavs, Music and Monday's Undies.

I want to take a moment to congratulate the Dallas Mavericks for winning their first NBA title last night in Miami with a 105-95 victory.  The Mavs won five of the last six games in the series and Dirk Nowitzki was named MVP of the series.  Of course this gave everybody and their brother a reason to get drunk and disorderly on a Sunday night which they most assuredly did.  Most of them got fairly sloppy about it too as evidenced by the number of times I had to clean up after them during the night.  Anyway, congrats Mavs, you have earned your celebration, enjoy the parade!

By now most of you are familiar with the It Gets Better campaign started by Dan Savage and his husband, Terry Miller  to combat bullying and teen suicide.  The campaign has taken on a life of its own as folks like you and me, celebrities, companies large and small and even Major League Baseball teams have made videos in support of LGBT youth and the Trevor Project which runs the only nationwide 24 hour suicide hot line.  Well, now it has inspired a song. "Broadway composer Andrew Lippa and head of the musical theatre program Kaitlin Hopkins take Texas State University musical theatre students into the studio. While serving as the musical theatre program's first Composer in Residence, Andrew and the students recorded "It Gets Better" to aide the efforts of the national anti-cyberbullying campaign. Andrew's incredibly inspiring song matched with outstanding student talent has produced a rare and beautiful gem! Enjoy!"  I have posted the video just below this paragraph.  Right after the video is a healthy serving of  marvelous men in their Monday's Undies to brighten your day and mine.  Thanks for the visit, come again real soon.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
