Well it seems that Blogger and Picasa3 are having a pissing contest because I could not get either one to cooperate with the other to post some hot picks for you today. I was kind of pissed until I decided to make a little video out of the photos I had selected and set it to Mozart's Piano Concerto Number 21. Movement 2, the Elvira Madigan Theme. But before we get there I have some more Pyotr Tchaikovsky for you. I chose his two most famous overtures for today, the first being the romantic Romeo and Juliet Overture performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, Valery Gergiev conducting for the 2007 prom season. Then we have the piece of music that first got me interested in Classical Music way, way back when, The 1812 Overture celebrating Russia's triumph over the massive Napoleonic invasion of that year, performed by the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Eiji Oue conducting. Both are lively performances with both conductors being HIGHLY animated and entertaining. Then you get to see my version of Thursday Dick-tation to get your engines revving hard. I uploaded it to Vimeo as I thought You Tube would have a cow when they say the content, so I did not even bother with them. The video can be found on Vimeo by following this link as well as being posted below. To view the video please enter the password Nichevo followed by the date 041411 and have a good time. I passworded it to get around the content restrictions. Thanks for visiting once again and do come back. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

UPDATE: For some god forsaken reason the original play list will not play the 1812 Overture so I have posted it here for you. Now I find that embedding of that remarkable performance has been disabled. Fuck me running. So I have gathered the following performance by the Halle Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall, Mark Elder conducting from 2004.
