Hope on the Horizon

I had a great day off yesterday, accomplishing all my chores in the morning and going for a job interview in the afternoon.  I have written many times of the experience that is working at a convenience store deep in the hood in the middle of the night.  Working at the corner of Crazy Avenue and Stupid Street is not all that conducive to positive mental health.  Combined with the limitations on my income placed on me by my employer, I have been much less than satisfied with my employment situation.  Thus the job interview in hopes of bettering Will and my financial fortunes.  The interview lasted a couple of hours and I had to take an academic test (which I passed easily) and a personality test.  In speaking with the manager after completing the personality test, he covered pay and benefits and pretty much told me that unless the test showed me to be an axe murderer, I pretty much got the job.  I should know for sure by tomorrow.  There are several positives about the new position, the number one being guaranteed 44 hours a week (versus my current 32) at a rate that is $4.72 more per hour than my current rate.  The job also comes with medical benefits and vacation time (which are not part of my current situation) and I get to dress nice and work daytime hours.  All in all a VAST improvement over my current employment.  Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well and Uncle Gerry gets to say bye bye to the denizens of the night time hood in east Fort Worth.  Moving on to the musical entertainment for today I have two oboe works, the first is the Beethoven Oboe Trio in a 2010 recording from the small stage at the Operaen in Copenhagen as a part of the Royal Danish Orchestra's Chamber Music concert series.   The second video is the Concerto for Oboe and Strings in D minor, Opus 9 by Tomaso Albinoni  performed by Il Fondamento under the direction of Paul Dombrecht on the Oboe.  Then I have some handsome hunks to entice your eyes and excite your libido.  Thanks for stopping in to say hello, come back again soon.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
