Today I have done something I have wanted to do for a long time. In the past I have always put together my computers (including my present Dell) from parts and pieces acquired through hand me downs or used geekology type shops. This time I have actually ordered a new out of the box Gateway DX series computer from an electronics outlet I have used before for various parts. Now I get to enjoy the anticipation until it gets delivered. I am actually going to have an up to date high powered computing platform with a Athlon Phenom 64 X3 8400 tri-core processor with each core running at 2.1 GHz (essentially giving me 6.3 GHz processing speed). Also included are a 500 GB hard drive, 3 GB of RAM, a DVD burner plus a 2nd combo drive, and new keyboard, mouse and speakers. The standard operating system offered was Vista but I upgraded that to Windows 7 as I really wanted nothing to do with the problem plagued Vista. So very soon I will actually enter this century in terms of computer technology with more computing power than I have ever had at my fingertips. I am especially proud that I saved the money up for this purchase given my less than optimal earning capacity. This is like have another Christmas! I must now exhibit great patience while anticipating this new wonder's arrival. Will has told me he is "slightly envious" and he is excited for me. Windows 7 will be a new experience for both of us as we learn the ins and outs of doing things differently than our current methods in Windows XP. Somehow I think this marks some progress for me as I have never purchased a new computer for my personal use. Will wonders never cease? LOL!
As you all know, I love my classical music and here of late I have discovered a new source for my listening pleasure within the Winamp media player I have been using. Winamp has a feature called Shout Cast Radio with many choices available in its various and sundry genres. The one I have been listening to is Venice Classic Radio broadcast out of (duh) Venice, Italy. The thing I like most about this station is that it is completely commercial free with just a few station identifiers, although those are spoken with a seriously sex female voice, some in English but mostly in Italian. All the titles of the pieces being played are in Italian also, but I recognize the composers and with my past musical education and experience along with my ability to speak some Spanish, I can pretty much figure out what is playing. All in all a most pleasing listening experience. For those of you using Winamp and who enjoy classical music, I would highly recommend Venice Classic Radio for your listening pleasure. And now for your viewing pleasure, I have some seriously sexy examples of the beauty of the male form right below. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
