"Inspiration Lake"
I talk to many people around the world via Yahoo! Messenger and Skype, having entered into a great number of friendships. It is not often when I get the opportunity to actually physically meet a person from my contacts list face to face. Sunday was one of those rare opportunities for such a meeting. This did not come without some trepidation on my part, as the Skype buddy Will and I were meeting is only 15, but he was coming with his Dad which added a whole new element to my trepidation. How does a 58 year old Gay man introduce himself as a "friend" of some one's 15 year old son? This little luncheon (we had Chinese!) was a month in the planning, so it really came off without a hitch, and my fears were relieved upon meeting Murdoom and his dad, Darin. Both had firm handshakes and open personalities who entered into a lively round table discussion on many and varied topics. Will is somewhat camera shy, so Murdoom surreptitiously recorded a short video without his knowledge until the very end. He could not figure out why we were laughing until he noticed the small camera in Murdoom's hand. This was a priceless moment. When Murdoom sends me the video I will be sure to let you guys see it here. It was a pleasure meeting both Murdoom and Darin who were both comfortable in their sexuality and with mine and Will's disparate ones. I got to eat lots of things I usually fore go at the house due to Will's spice sensitivity, so I pigged out just a "little bit". I must say we all thoroughly enjoyed our selves which made all my trepidation of no value except to face the challenge of revealing the true me to someone I only know on line and his dad whom I did not know. This will probably make future meetings less of a fear and more of a joy. Which is a good thing as I have my 40th high school reunion on September 19th where most of the people there I will not have seen in 40 years. It also goes to show me when you face your fears they become valueless in the whole reality of new friends and old friendships renewed. Murdoom, it was good to meet you and your Dad, I would not have missed it for the world. All in all a great lesson learned and a beautiful meal with wonderful people. One more step towards personal equality for me and Gay people in general. The more our enemies know us, the harder it becomes to hate us. Visibility is a very good thing for all of us, you might try it sometime for yourselves.
It is time once again for Monday's Undies and for today I reached back into my Men 2 album (of 31) for some great shots of beautiful men. Thanks for coming by, stop in again soon. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
