A Sad Story Indeed

There was a story on Towleroad yesterday that tore my heart out and angered me at the same time. Young medical student Bryce Faulkner is in love with his boyfriend Travis who lives in Wisconsin. Bryce is from El Dorado Arkansas, the heart of conservatism in that state. Bryce was planning to come out to his parents, then move closer to Travis. Before that could happen, Bryce's mother went snooping in his email and discovered he was gay and what he was planning to do. Using economic coercion his parents took all he owned away from him and in order to remain in the family and not be tossed away like so much trash, he had to agree to enroll in a conversion therapy program lasting 14 months. Bryce has been spirited off to Florida and has not been heard of since. I have posted below the video from the Save Bryce website, which I urge you to check out after watching the video, the website and the video both have links to the Face Book page set up for the same purpose. I t is truly sad that still today in this country of "free" peoples, parents are willing to throw away or psychologically scar their children just because they are Gay. I am angry at the parents who are so misguided as to do this to their son and saddened that Bryce must go through this bullshit ex-gay program. If you have seen Bryce or know of his whereabouts, there are people listed on the website that wish to rescue him from the bastards and get him back together with the one he loves. I hope and pray they are successful.
