Betrayed By The One We Voted In

I had an incredibly difficult time with the weekend celebrations. I really did not feel like celebrating the freedom of "all Americans" when such is not the case. I do not feel free, I do not feel like an equal member of our society and I certainly do not wish to celebrate the fact that everyone has civil rights in this country except for Gay people. I got an Independence Day message from the President which was basically a load of crap about said subject. How can he celebrate the freedom "all Americans" when we are not truly free. If each and every American was treated equally and fairly under the law of this land and our political leaders gave more than lip service to the basic civil rights of those without them then maybe we would have reason to celebrate. Unfortunately this is not the case and until our political leaders grow the cajones to stand up to the haters in both parties it never will be. We as a group jumped onto the Obama bandwagon with hope for changes to bring about equality. Now the major issues of most importance to us are off the table and no one in the White House or on Capitol Hill has the balls to step up to the plate. I am sick of this pussyfooting around on our issues. I am tired of broken promises and pretty words. I am sick to death of political pandering to the haters who would repress us all if given the opportunity. I believe all pink dollars should be denied to all political organizations who do not overtly and actively support our issues. I think we should all be more vocal in our opposition to the haters and I think we should literally stand on the White House steps and the steps of Congress berating their lack of balls on these issues. It is time for no more Mr Nice Guy, and to reiterate: until we prove to the powers that be that we are not a bunch of limp wristed pantie waists willing to bend over so they can shove hate up our collective asses we will never be equal. I for one refuse to bend over and take it any longer. Mr President, Members of Congress, when are you going to keep your promises? When are you going to come clean and do the right thing? Why should we have to wait like good little fags and dykes while you kiss our asses for money just to turn your backs on us and our issues one more time. It is time for you to search within yourselves to find that you are wrong and we are right. The Constitution says all men are created equal, is it not time to make that a reality instead of a fantasy? One would hope that this would be the case, but I am not holding my breath. Maybe I should just move to Canada and be done with all the bullshit in this country. Unfortunately I am a patriotic American and feel that we should change our country for the better instead of leaving it for someone else to do. Now it is time to press our collective knives to their throats and demand our just and equal treatment. Raise holy hell with your Congress people, protest wherever the President goes, make our issues so bothersome to them they will give us our civil rights just to shut us up and then protest some more. It is time they learned that we will not stand idly by while they sell us down the river again. STAND UP! ACT UP! BEND THEM OVER AND DO TO THEM WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN DOING TO US ALL THESE YEARS. SEE HOW THEY LIKE IT.
