Today is a very important day for the State of California and for the rest of the nation as well. The California Supreme Court will announce their decision on the Constitutionality of Prop 8. It will be a day of celebration or condemnation depending on the ruling. If Prop 8 is upheld, then that would be true setback for GLBT rights, giving us much work to do. If, however, Prop 8 is struck down and marriage equality restored to Californians, the celebrations will commence again. The rest of the nation will slowly be caught in the rising tide of equality washing in from both coasts to meet Iowa in the middle. I hope it is the latter. Of course I think Hell will have to freeze over before the stupid mf's in Texas get off the schneid and extend equality to GLBT folk. But there is always hope and hard work to be done to get us all there. Keep your fingers crossed for a positive outcome today in Sacramento.


Tomorrow is a big day for me as it is my birthday (#58) and yes, your Uncle is an olde pharte but I try not to act like it. I also leave to travel up north to Omaha to get Will and haul him back down here. So thus a new adventure begins on the morrow. I will have a birthday post up but then will be on hiatus until next Monday when I will recount the adventure for you. I will take along the trusty Nikon CoolPix digital camera to record special moments, people and places along the way. I am looking forward to the trip and to having my best friend as a room mate.
