Hey guys, sorry about posting so late in the day, but Uncle was tired and frazzled from a busy night at work. When I got home, I had a snack then I took a nap as I could not keep my eyes open. I guess my body and my mind are still in that WTF mode, making me sleep at odd hours and waking up disoriented. It has been a week already that I have been on the night shift and my body has not adjusted to the shift in hours. I have managed to maintain almost daily contact with Will, although we usually talk at different times than we have normally been. I noticed that about 3 am when I have been waking up for my normal day shift in the past, my body and mind seem to wake and I am my normal ebullient self whereas I am a "little" grumpy before then. Thankfully Will can usually ameliorate my moods over the phone and bring a little sanity back into my head before I explode at some crazy idiot doing something totally stupid in the middle of the night. Why they let some of these folks run around loose without a leash is beyond me. I realize drugs and alcohol ingested long term makes you a basket case and usually unreasonable to rational thought. That does not make me the keeper of the asylum nor did they provide me with the keys to loony bin so I could lock the really crazy ones away. Ah the adventures of the night shift, gives me a real appreciation for the day shift.

It is nice however to come into the store when I am not working and having all the employees hug me and tell me how much they miss me on their shift. My regular customers also seem to miss me and comment on the crazy hours I have been working of late. This is a good thing and also very gratifying to be appreciated by both your employees and your customers. This confirms the rightness of my decision to return to Texas to take on this challenge. We as a group are heading in the right direction and our customers are responding with their dollars in a big way on a daily basis. So who am I to complain? In any retail business you will come across some crackpots running around loose, but for the most part I enjoy all my customers and I really should not bitch. It does give me something to write about though, doesn't it?
