Castle By The Sea at Sunset
I hope you guys had a great weekend, mine sure was. I worked my ass off on Friday and Saturday as business was brisk. I got Sunday off, but went in for a couple of hours to get the tobacco order in for transmittal this morning. I knew I would be too busy to do it before 10 when it is due. The weather has been cooperating with cold mornings and pleasantly comfortable afternoons helping the holiday spirit along. Our customer base is responding to the improvements we have made with increased sales in our high profit lines as well as an increase in the hard lines too. Slowly we are rounding the corner into order from chaos. Our work by no means is done, however we can see our plan is working. I get the pleasure of wearing the manager uniform today for the first time. I have been working "undercover" as a Sr Sales Associate which has helped with the evaluation process. Now the old members who are left will discover what my true position is. It will come as a surprise for some of them I am sure. That is a good thing for many reasons not the least of which is their realization of the strength of the collective will of our management group. As I said in an earlier post, the inmates are no longer running the asylum and the ones who are not wanting to get with the program have shown themselves up. They are either gone or on the way out the door relieving us of the task of dragging them around like an anchor or tripping over them like speed bumps on the road to progress. Yes we have made mistakes, but have learned from them as we increase both our knowledge base and our experience level. Collectively at least one of us three has a strength in each area necessary for a successful, profitable retail operation. The rest is just a process of acquiring and training crew members who will buy into the program whole hearted. The process of trial and error with crew members will take some time as we build a cohesive team that can handle anything the public throws at us. I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of becoming successful in my home town after all these years of my own trial and error process.
You guys out there who stop by every day have provided lots of encouragement on a regular basis. One of the real pleasures of blogging is when your work is found by someone new and they take the time to compliment your work in the form of a comment or email. I have developed many solid valuable friendships through this interaction during the last couple of years. I received an email yesterday from a new young blogger, Daddy's Boy from A Collection Of Men, who wrote saying he had linked to Nichevo from his blog. I of course surfed on over to check his blog out and liked what I found. I have added A Collection Of Men to the Reads and Links section in the sidebar. You guys go on over to say "Hi, Uncle Gerry sent us by to spread some love". I enjoy encouraging young people in their endeavors to discover themselves and how the fit into this crazy ass world of ours. We as older Gays have a duty to remain available to the next generations for whatever support we can give them. I know I cannot adopt the world and I do not mean for any of you to go out and take on a boy toy (unless of course you want one). Most of the young people I have helped along their way have been attractive to me for some reason or another, but their minds were always more important than their bodies. The regular followers of this blog know for sure I have an eye for the lads (huge understatement there, huh?) however appreciation of beauty is not a reason to take advantage of their vulnerabilities. OK, off the soapbox and on to the appreciation of beauty. Monday's Model Men this week really rock my socks (and cock) so I best let you get to them. Thanks for stopping by, until next time as always, Enjoy!
