First of all , sorry for no post yesterday, I got all of my chores done except for posting before I ran out of time and energy. Therefore I decided to make this post as special as possible to make up for it. Please let me know if I succeed. Anyway, I did get the laundry and other assorted chores done yesterday so I should not have to "go and do" until it is payday again. Maybe now I can catch up on some rest. I am going to get some today, I started training Scruffy on the Audit last night and as soon as it was put to bed I took off and left Scruffy to run the rest of the shift by himself. Essentially giving myself a half day off to actually stop and relax for a bit. The Cowboys don't play until Monday, that is if Texas Stadium is not under water from Ike's visit to Dallas. This means I can sleep my way though football with out missing too much that I cannot catch up on on line or one of the highlight shows. Of course I am also concerned that I may not be able to see the game because our satellite signal comes out of all places, Houston. We have the local channels available right now but I do not know if one of them will carry a simulcast. NLR is more than halfway between Dallas and Memphis so there is no one team for this region. We are not that far form ST Louis or New Orleans either so this being the first instance with out cable for MNF on ESPN, I do not know if I will be able to watch. I know Houston has a lot more problems than my sat signal right now so I will just be patient and hope we get a signal before MNF comes on. The phones at the desk have rung pretty often about the lack of cable but they are pretty understanding when we tell them where the signal originates. Back onto Scruffy's training for a sec, it is just a real joy to teach a student who can grasp a concept and carry it to its logical conclusion without me having to pound it into them. Seeing the light over their head constantly flashing instead of waiting for it to come on increases my ability to impart lots of knowledge in a little time. It should only take two or three complete run throughs for Scruffy to be able to do the Audit on his own ( of course I will be available by phone) thus giving me a real day off pretty soon. After I finish this post I am going to take a long nap before football starts then doze my way through the games before napping again before work. Sounds like a great plan to me.
There have been a couple of things I have wanted to let you guys know about but have not found the time to do so. As you guys well know, my feelings about the Evil Empire and Darth Gates could fill a book or two. i that vein, my buddy Will in Omaha turned me on to this list of the 51 most useful free ware alternatives to purchased programming from said Evil Empire and other collaborators. I have most of these programs installed on my PC as I use nothing MS unless there is absolutely no alternative programming available. Will also tuned me onto this site for open source alternatives to commercial software. Both sites have lots to offer those of you seeking solutions to the Evil Empire's strangle hold on the PC pocketbook.
I ran across an article over at Salon about the latest neurological studies on the nature vs nurture causes of homosexuality. Born That Gay is interesting reading delving into many facets of the discussion from genes to our response to pheromones. I myself lean heavily into the nature side of the discussion. How else would I have know from my earliest memories I was not like other little boys, it just took me a while to figure out how I was different, but there was no suppressing the fact that I found boys attractive and girls were friend material but nothing to get excited about. Dealing with that fact took considerably longer to deal with and accept than the actual realization of it. To this day I am still growing and leaning and in turn passing the knowledge to a new generation when and wherever I can. All that being said, let's get on to the entertainment portion of this broadcast. I have more Game Play with Will on Banjo Tooie in one player, Barack Obama and Politics Today in another. The Will sent me the link to this rely great animation video, RAM that I posted for you below Politics Today. Then we come to the really delicious part of this broadcast with Hot Hunk Sundaes just waiting for you and your spoon, so dive on in........Until next time as always, Enjoy!
