Autumn Leaves
Come September in an election year most of the already huge media focus will be on the race for the presidency. (btw anyone remember that Cary Grant movie besides me?) For the first time in many a year I have become somewhat rabidly involved with the effort to exert any influence I might have in the interest of a presidential candidate. I have made no secret of my support of Senator Obama after finally making that decision earlier this year. Today's post reflects back on the RNC and Senators Biden and Obama's response while on the campaign trail. Jon Stewart and Keith Obermann take their stabs at the Goddamned Olde Pharts and their new young tart in hiding up north. You might also enjoy this collection of the best of the political cartoons from Bob Geiger dot com. Be sure to check out Mark Fiore's Animations at the bottom of Bob's post. I strongly support the Obama Biden campaign and would hope you will also. However if you are a Log Cabin Republican, you are still welcome to cruise the eye candy around here but you will not find much support for your party of choice. Speaking of choice, this year the alternatives are clear cut. While neither party promises rose gardens and paradise in an total equality world without discrimination or condemnation, the Democrats offer persons of our persuasion our best chance at creating a more inclusive world in which to live. As a fiscal conservative I have most of my life voted Republican until they lost their way and became possessed by the evil spirits surrounding the religious right whereby I lost most interest in politics. Senator Obama has re energized that interest so much that for the first time in my life I am contributing cash to a campaign. I always figured politicians had enough of my money so why give them more. This year it is different, I want to be involved, I want to be part of this historic time, I want Obama to be President of the United States. If that point has not be made clear heretofore then let us not equivocate any further, Senators Obama/Biden will top my ballot on Nov 4. Now I will get off my soap box and let you watch some soaps for yourselves. Today's play list includes both Nuke and Holly Oaks, The Real Weekly News and Senators Obama and Biden, then Jon Stewart and The Daily Show take their shot followed by Keith Olbermann's condemnation over the use of the 9/11 video footage for a partisan political ploy. Then the stuff you have been waiting for since the opening lines, this week's edition of Hot Hunk Sundaes (just think of these guys with whipped cream and a cherry, maybe even some chocolate?) to close out the post. Thanks for stopping by, come back again real soon. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
