Morning Mists - Hawaii
First off I want to say Happy Easter to all those that celebrate the holiday and Happy Sunday to those who do not. I will be leaving in a little while for services at the Open Door Community with SG and SGGurl followed by the pot luck dinner. According to SGGurl the congregation is 75 per cent GLBT so I am hoping to meet some "family" in a non meat market atmosphere and start to develop some friendships in the Gay community here. The pot luck will probably give some interaction time in a relaxed, non threatening atmosphere where I can engage in some conversations with interesting people. We were planning to explore the USS Razorback afterward but due to the high water levels in the Arkansas River after the torrential rains earlier in the week, the museum is closed until next Friday so we are postponing that adventure until next Sunday.
Saturday night at the hotel proved to have some excitement of the non basketball variety. During my evening shift, our guest in one of the suites was checking out the hide-a-bed sofa where upon removing the cushions turned up a mystery. Under the cushions were several proof sheets for counterfeit bills in 1, 5, 10 and 20 dollar denominations along with a room receipt for a previous guest. This of course freaked out the guest who was already easily excitable ( as known from previous visits). She called NLR's boys in blue who quickly responded, their station house being just across the street. Upon investigation, the officers took custody of the evidence found and succeeded in resolving the guests fears of the counterfeit dollars owner's return to reclaim them then came to the front desk to speak with MM and I. We pulled the rental history up and printed it off for the officers and they showed us the bills. Whoever created these bills was not the finest of artisans as the bills were obviously fake. The ones were not even green but black and the higher denominations looked to be photo copies and not printed bills. We provided the officers with the registration cards and photocopies of the ID's of the recent guests in that suite so that they could pursue the investigation further. There were of course some guests who had the appearance of possible criminal intent, but don't most ID photos look like mug shots anyway? So the mystery surrounding the bills is not yet resolved, but the officers have all the available information we could provide. I will try to find out as much as I can about the resolution of said mystery in the coming days. It never ceases to amaze me how interesting Saturday nights are in the hotel business. Sometimes I think there is a full moon on every Saturday night as there is always some wacko who shows up to make life interesting. That is one of the things I like about this job, you can never tell who is going to walk through the door or what is going to happen when they do. One thing is for sure, it is never boring around here!
I will report my impressions of the Open Door Community in tomorrow's post along with any details I may be able to find out about our little mystery. I hope you all have a great holiday today, I have some great photos to start your day off right just below. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

One question....(well, actually, two). First things first. Just where do you find all these great pics?!! Yours is the first site I check out every day (besides, I enjoy hearing about your exploits!)
Now for the second one. I realize I may be way out of line here, and I'm sure I'll be told in no uncertain terms if I am, but you, along with others are slowly teaching me the lesson "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." So here goes.
If you find the time and inclination, I'd like to invite you and any of your readers who may see this comment to read my blog today (Mar23). If you have something to add, that's great, if I'm out of line, I hope to be told that too.
I know it's unusual, but I guess in a lot of ways I'm not a 'conventional' kind of guy!
My addy is www.evydense.blogspot.com
(I don't know how to put a hyperlink into a comment....sorry!)
Cheers, and thanks for all your supportive comments of late. Trust me when I say they have helped me a great deal!!
