Last night was my first night basically on my own to do the audit and when the Assistant Manager came in to check my progress he found he had nothing to do because it had already been done. He also told me he was proud of me for learning the process so quickly. So I have a real sense of accomplishment in that I am assimilating all the input that has been thrown my way. I feel my intelligence and skills are actually being utilized again instead of lying dormant. That is such a welcome feeling after the malaise I was trapped in back in Dallas. Perhaps Gal Pal was correct when she told me I was being stifled there. I certainly do not feel stifled here rather I feel inspired and invigorated.
My long time readers know that I am a sucker for a good romance whether it be on film or print (or electrons as the case may be). I am currently reading one that is really wonderful. It is actually a trilogy found at My Gay Stories and the author only lists his first name, Terry. The particular story I am reading now is the first part of the trilogy Protecting David. There is sex in the story, what good is a romance with out sex? But there is the love behind the sex and the intertwining of the lives of the various characters that is done with great skill, one goes from chapter to chapter with breathless anticipation. It will take me awhile to complete the trilogy for in total there are 74 chapters, but at least now I have the time to devote to such a task as I am not burning my candle at both ends and the middle. I could really get used to only working one job and being able to afford to do so.
The weather is forecast to be on warming trend this week so I may get out and explore more of my surroundings later on in the week. I am off on Wednesday, work the evening shift on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then off again on Sunday so I should have some explore time available to me. We had a lot of snow over the weekend and it was pretty while it lasted but like in Texas it did not last too long. The kids around here sure seemed to like it. The boy who lives next door was proud to show me the giant snowball he made on the of the first snowfall. He is a real talker going a mile a minute most of the time. About a block from the hotel there is a huge public library that I will have to explore also as time goes by. I love libraries with their smell of books and the palpable quietude. Then there is the Clinton Presidential Library just down the street that will bear investigating. So many new things to explore and experience, I look forward to it all with great enthusiasm.
Blogger and Picasa seem to be getting along better today, albeit a little on slow side, I was able to upload photos for the eye candy section. I also have today's episode of Holly Oaks featuring John Paul and Kieron. The week is off to a great start and I will keep you posted on my latest adventures as they come about. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
