Sunday Surf Guide

You guys that are regular readers here know I spend a great deal of time surfing the Internet for entertainment, information and good content to bring to you here. I subscribe to various news and video feeds, blogs and websites. I use FireFox2 as a browser with the colorful tabs add-on because I keep so many things open at one time and I absolutely detest anything from Microsoft. One of the features that makes FF2 easy for me to use is the bookmarks which allows me to categorize my surfing in folders. I have seeming hundreds of bookmarks so without some organization it would take me forever to find the particular place I want to surf to at any given time. My most used folder is my "Daily Essentials" which contains the places I surf most religiously. The sites contained in this folder are Boys Are Ugly But So Cute, !!! One Love !!!, thoughts of a lunch lady, London Calling Luv, The Way I See It, Keith Kats, Naked Boy Chronicles, New Chapter Same Old Book, The New Boy's Club, Best Gay Blogs, and Webshots. I try not to miss anything posted on these sites no matter what my time restrictions are. Each of the sites in this folder offers unique views on the world, excellent photography and/or humor and insight necessary for for my sanity. Check them out and tell them Uncle Gerry sent you.

I also have a Coming Out Blogs folder with 6 blogs that I find intelligently written, witty and heartfelt. The six blogs are Nothing Golden Stays, Troystopher, Frozen Underwear, ClosetNS, Fixing My Life, and dit21. I must offer hearty congratulations to Matt at ClosetNS who successfully came out to his parents last Thursday night, a huge step forward in any young Gay man's life. To read Troystopher, you will need a Google account and an invitation which can be had by emailing a request to troychristopher@gmail.com. I like reading these blogs to see how different coming out today is to when I first came out in 1975 yet how remarkably similar the experience is. I also like to support and encourage young men in their struggle to come to terms with themselves. We all know coming out is not a one time experience but a continuous journey and support from family and friends is one thing that keeps most of us sane. I know my life would sure be different if I had any of the support systems available today and a little familial support. It is hard enough to maintain any sense of normality or sanity when you feel you are the only homo in the hemisphere without having to hide in your own house from those who are supposed to love you no matter what. So I try to do my part in whatever way I can. Surf over to these guys and spread some love and support.

I have an update on the ad update I posted yesterday. It seems that there are some haters out there that have a hard on for Ryan who posted some complaints to Photo Bucket about my ad image just because they could. Why the haters do stupid shit like this really pisses me off but I try not to let it get to me too badly. I had to set my Picasa2 Web Albums to private for the same reason. He has since set his account to private so they cannot do that again and we have created a new ad in two sizes which are both posted below. If you would like to trade reciprocal ads, or see all the archived photography posted to Nichevo all in one place. just email me at gerrym0527@yahoo.com and I will send you the code for the ads or the link for my web albums. Here are the ads:

I really liked the first ad but this guy is hot too so we will see if the ads throw some new traffic my way. Speaking of which this is really a record setting month for readership here. With 4 days still left in the month I have had 18,834 visitors so it looks like I will pass 20,000 before the month is out. I am really excited that there are so many of you out there that stop by my little corner of the world. Your loyalty and support have made a big difference in my life and I thank you all very much for all the love you have shown me. I will pass it on any time I can.

You guys probably are aware of Fox News anchor John Gibson's horrendous remarks in reference to the death of actor Heath Ledger this week. Well Keith Olbermann awarded the asshole the Worst Person in the World Gold Medal and the video is posted below. I am always amazed at the insensitivity some media personalities display at the most inappropriate times but I could not have said it better than Keith Olbermann.

In my Daily Essentials surf I am always glad when I arrive at
Keith Kats who I posted about when he first started his blog. Keith is an artist and blogger from California whose photographic collection is larger than mine and quite excellent. So as a hat tip to him for all the great times I have had viewing his blog, all of the photos in today's eye candy section have been published at one time or another on his site. Be forewarned that there are some NSFW images as you scroll down the page. Thank you Keith, keep up the good work. I guess I have rambled on enough for one day and I still have work to do on the special post coming up on Tuesday or Wednesday. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words, Gerry. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that people are enjoying my blog.

What a trip down Memory Lane! I'd forgotten that I'd posted some of those!
