Hot Topics And Hotter Men

Where to begin? There have been so many good articles available on line this week that I thought I would point them out and post links so that you could read them at your leisure. The first three articles are by columnists for The Edge Dallas :

Ryan Shattuck: An Open Letter To Homophobia

Mickey Weems: Soldiers, Fags, And Funerals: United We Stand

Killian Melloy: "Almost" A Constituency

You are probably familiar with Richard Curtis, the GOP Washington State Representative who resigned over the sex scandal with Cody Costagna the ex porn star turned extortionist (allegedly). Dan Savage of Seattle's The Stranger went to Spokane to retrace the footsteps of the misadventure and wrote this excellent piece:

Straight Acting

Giving us hope for the future generations of enlightened Americans this column from the Duke University Chronicle written by Jacaui Detwiler gives her perspective on civil rights and equality:
Meanwhile in the state of Virginia, the red is taking on a purplish tint as evidence by this article from the Virginian-Pilot about Bayside High School:

Gay Straight Alliance happy to be a part of school's homecoming

Then there was this editorial in the New York Times concerning the passage of ENDA:

An Overdue Step for Equal Justice

Now that we have done the social issues commentary I want to point you to the new photo book by Henning von Berg. This blurb from the website describes his style: "He refutes avant-garde posturing with well-conceived convention. He respects his models' individual personalities, refusing to submerge them in superfluous stylistic nonsense. […] In all his dealings with the nude, Henning von Berg entertains a sense of mischief without ever being offensive." You can find out more about the artist as well as download a pdf version of the preview at the website:

Henning von Berg: Alpha Male

So there we have it for today so I will leave you with some gleanings from Uncle Gerry's Archives. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
