A Question For You

Today is the 28th anniversary of the first March on Washington for Gay and Lesbian Civil rights. We have come a long way in the past 29 years, but we are not there yet. The Matthew Shepard bill has been passed but not signed and there is the ongoing debate on including or excluding the trans-gendered members of our community in the ENDA legislation. I am all for Equal Rights for everyone and I think we owe a great debt to the trans-gendered in our community who were the first ones to stand up and fight back way back in 1969 in the Stonewall Riots. There may be reasonable arguments for taking a slice of the pie while we can get it and fight on for the rest of the pie in the future. Then again, there are those who will say there is no reasonable argument for the same thing. What do your think? Do we stand and fight for everything now or take what we can get and fight on for the rest? Will fighting for everything and losing the battle hurt us more than winning a partial victory and fighting on? Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
