Lest all you faithful readers of Nichevo think that Uncle Gerry has given up on blogging for good. Never fear for I am here. I thank all of you who have written or posted comments concerning my whereabouts and why I have not posted. I shall not go into the myriad problems that I have had with my Internet connection, suffice it to say that the opportunities to post have not been available to me yo these many weeks. If it rains or I fart wrong the connection disappears for days. Add to that, after my last posting I was somewhat despondent over my situation, which I have been able to resolve favorably. I now work at the property where I live and the one next door. As an employee, I catch a break on the rent in addition to getting paid. It is part time right now but the State of Texas pays me the difference between my compensation and the rate I would get being totally unemployed. So much the better for me.
There have been many events worthy of comment over the last few weeks; the tragedy at VT, many arrests on the Equality Ride, the suicide of a disturbed veteran at Walter Reed not discovered for days, and not the least are the many foibles and fumbles, lies and subterfuges of George, ET AL. The event that has most concerned me, though, was the injury of a friend and fellow blogger in an accident in Georgia.
For those who have followed my writings here, you know of my friendship with Ryan and Mike over at Boys Are Ugly But So Cute. Well a couple of weeks ago, Mike was playing on the ATV's with Ryan's Dad when he became embroiled in an accident which left him with broken bones and in a comatose state. I am happy to report he has awoken from his coma as of last Friday and Ryan is beside himself with joy. Thank you God for answered prayer. I have not been able to communicate with Ryan as the connection has been iffy at best, 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there, but it came up around 10:30 last night and has stayed up all day. I had to work this morning so this is my first chance to post since the connection has returned. I was very concerned for Mike and Ryan. Anyone who doubts the power of the love of one man for another only has to look to Ryan for his unwavering vigil at Mike's bedside until he awoke. Mike has not been able to speak yet for the tubing inserted everywhere, but made his wishes known that Ryan could now rest a bit and requested Ryan's Dad to remain with him until Ryan returned. This is the latest up date that I have. I just want Ryan and Mike to know that they were never far from my thoughts and prayers and I was quite upset that I could not communicate this to them. I know when Ryan gets the opportunity, he will read this and relay it to Mike. God Bless you both and the love and devotion you share. May you never be separated from each other and may your love for each other continue to grow as you share your lives wherever your adventures may take you. Your well being is closely held in my heart and never far from my thoughts. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery from your injuries, Mike and rest for your Ryan as you two move on with your young lives. I look forward to the time when I can once again talk to you both.
This has been the most important thing on my mind so I will close off for now with some eye candy for your enjoyment and a new song spot as you are probably tired of the harpsichord piece by now. God Bless each and every one of my faithful and the new subscribers who have enlisted even in my absence from posting. So until next time, as always, Enjoy!
