Homo Hop And Military Madness Among Other Things

For those of you in the Dallas area that are into Hip Hop the HomoRevolution Tour is coming to The Brick in Oak Lawn on April the 8th. There are lots of great acts from the US and UK showing off their HomoHop talents. All of the artists are Gay so this is a great opportunity to support our out and proud musicians. You can find out more about the tour and the artists at the official HomoRevolution Website. See the video below for preview highlights and tour dates.

Sorry I have not been around this week to post, but the building with the router for this part of the complex had some serious electrical problems and the connection went down Sunday and I did not get it back until around 5 o'clock today. Talk about being in the dark, sheesh. I really was uncomfortable with the prospect of posting from the library after what happened last time so I just had to grin and bear it until the electricians solved the problem. If luck holds out we will not have any further problems and I will be able to post more regularly.

In the news this week the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General Peter Pace made an a** of himself in the Chicago Tribune by calling homosexuals immoral and equating us with heterosexual adulterers while urging Congress not to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Funny thing is the Marines notified former porn star rent boy Matt Sanchez that they will NOT be seperating him for being Gay, wonder what old Pete has to say about that. I guess it is all right if you're Gay as long as you snuggle up to Ann Coulter at CPAC. I just wonder how all those linguists who speak Arabic that got kicked out for being Gay feel about this. Maybe they should have made a porno and then they would have got to stay in, huh? The Washington Post ran an editorial blasting General Pace for his outrageous comments and Hilary finally weighed in in the New York Times saying she did not agree with Pace, that she has been upset for a long time about the DA/DT and that it should be repealed. Barack Obama has finally come out and said the same thing. Maybe we will get it repealed. Write your Senators and Representatives and tell them Pace is an a** with a capital A and they should get on stick about repealing that stupid law and passing the ENDA resolution to protect everyone including GLBT Americans from discrimination. While they are at it they can pass that Hate Crimes Bill to give law enforcement and judges the tools they need to lock up those who want to do violence to those that happen to be different from themselves.

While over at Walter Reed, they got rid of General Kiley and replaced him with a woman who believes that the Washington Post made all that stuff up and that the care they provide to our service personnel is top notch. What planet has she been on? I am so glad that Congress is taking the military to task for the abominable way our men and women that have served so bravely are being treated. Which brings to mind the soldiers that are medically unfit for duty that are being shipped back to Iraq from Fort Benning, GA. to help fill out the quota for George's Surge. What kind of stupid s*** is that? They have been there, done that, been injured, are medically unfit for duty and they are getting sent back? Something is seriously f****d up about that. You would think the Army would listen to the doctors that are trying to do their jobs instead of glossing over the paperwork to get the numbers to fill their quotas. You can read more about this story here.

The Soulforce Equality Ride 2007 will be at Baylor University in Waco, TX on Monday, March 18. I am waiting for the fireworks to begin. Terri Jo Ryan of the Waco Tribune has promised to keep me posted as I don't think I will be able to make it down there to join hands with them as they confront the bigotry and homophobia present there. Riders have been arrested at several campuses including Notre Dame, Central Bible College, and Oklahoma Baptist University. You can read of their adventures on the Soulforce Blog. If you are able, you can still contribute to the campaign either anonymously or by helping to sponsor individual riders at Soulforce.org.

That about catches us up on the week and it is getting late so I will wrap up for now with some eye candy. Thanks to those of you who have posted comments and e-mailed me. Your support is most gratifying and truly appreciated. So until next time as always, Enjoy!
