Sometime I feel just like the guy here on the sailboard, cruising right along having fun unaware of the giant wave set to engulf him and pound him down into the surf. Today is one of those days I must apologize to you guys for not writing anything yesterday, I did manage to post some eye candy but that was all I could muster up. I suppose I should tell you the story so you will understand how I come to feel the way I do today, but first something to distract your eyes.
Friday started out fine but cold, 24 degrees here in Dallas, 19 in Atlanta according to Ryan with whom I chatted for a short bit in the am. I got up at 5 am so I would be ready to get on the bus at 7:30 for the trip to my 10 am second interview with the marketing company. All was well and I was dressed and ready to go when Ry rang up and we chatted a bit. I told him I had to cut it short as I had to catch the bus, so he let me go and I locked up the apartment and headed out.
To get to my interview, I had to take the bus to the train station, wait 25 minutes to catch the train downtown, where I had to change trains for the trip north to the next county. It was a quick connect downtown, only 5 minute wait and then I was off to downtown Plano in Collin County north of Dallas, where I arrived about an hour later. Here I had to catch another bus to Collin Creek Mall where I was to meet my interview at Starbucks.
Arriving at the mall entrance I see a Starbucks, so I think I am home free. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The Starbucks on the street was not the right address, however the one inside the mall was. So I truck across the street and the humongous parking lot and proceed down stairs where the directory said Starbucks was. Along the way all the little guys and girls at the kiosks wanted to lure me in an make me spend my money (they had no way to know I had none) but I did make it to Starbucks on time. I could not however find my interviewer.
Luckily, the company had given me his cell phone number, so I rang him up and asked if he was running behind. No, he said, I am here where are you. I gave him the address where I was and he said that is not the right place, exit the parking lot and drive 5 miles down the road and we could possibly still squeeze in the interview. I explained I was using the public transportation system whereupon he asked where I was coming from and I told him. He then said that we would have to reschedule for next week and he would come down there instead of me traveling up here. All fine and good, but I had wanted to interview and go to work so that I could start to recover from this period of unemployment. So much for that for today! So I started the 2 and a half hour journey back home.
When I arrived home, I checked the mail and found I had received a check to help out with the funds, so I went to the bank it was drawn on, and of course there were insufficient funds to cover the check, so once again, I had wasted a trip in hopes of progress only to have them dashed on the rocky shore. I still had not given up hope, as I was still due to call the man I had done some work for to find how much he was going to come across with for my efforts. Of course, he was not available and did not return my call. This was getting old.
At this point, I was really down and could not think of anything positive to say to you guys so I just posted some eye candy and went to bed. I did not sleep well but I did manage to catch some zz's in a couple of shifts of trying. In between, in an effort to make myself feel better and to find something to entertain you loyal readers, I delved once again into the Archives and I think you will be pleased with the result which you will find at the end of this post.
If you guys remember from an earlier post, I told you how I had canceled all my recurring memberships etc when I became unemployed so that my bank account would not suffer, and how one had mysteriously reappeared which I asked the bank to investigate. I got the word today by mail, that they could not prove it fraudulent and would not refund the money. Of course the person I need to speak with to protest this will not be in until Monday, so basically I am out $80 for the $29.95 membership plus $33 overdraft fee, $15 under balance fee and $2 negative balance fee which leave me overdrawn $36.08. I resubmitted the cancellation and printed everything so I could prevent the bank from stealing any more money from me. If any of you guys are thing of investing through "Typing for Dollars" or "Today I Learn" out of Kissimee, Fl. DO NOT! They are a scam and will not respond when you try to call or contact them on line.
I made another attempt to contact the man I had done some work for, and lo and behold I did make contact. He asked me if I was ready to go back to work for him, and I declined. He asked why, and I said it was not something I felt I could do at this time. I then asked him about any forthcoming remuneration and he proceeded to tell me I owed him $100 for hotel bills from the last time I worked for him. This was after I lost everything I owned working for him and he wants me to give him $100 for the "privilege" of working to make him money without compensation to me. If any of you guys here in Dallas answer an ad placed by "America's Politically Incorrect, Inc." a subterfuge of Cardwell Promotions, run as quickly as you can the other way as he will screw you to the wall and make you pay for the screws. Cardwell is headquartered in New Port Richie, Fl. What is it about these Florida companies that make them think we should pay for BS. The following picture if for Ed Cardwell and Today I Learn, right wing religious mother f*****'s all.
I feel so much better now that I have that out of my system. Let's hope next week brings better results than the last. Uncle Gerry and Auntie Holiday must not give up the hope that everyone is not involved in a conspiracy to drive them into bankruptcy, suicidal depression, or homicidal mania, though homicide might make me feel better in the short term (LOL).
