Counting Down The Days

Well my shopping therapy was a success yesterday. I like to shop at the local thrift store where Gal Pal works that supports disabled veterans. They always have some gold among the brass to mine if you take the time to look. I ended up with 3 pairs of slacks, 3 shirts and 4 ties for under $25.00 including designer labels like CK and Alexander Julian. So I may be thrifty but it does not hurt to dress well without spending a fortune. I like to hunt for bargains no matter what I am shopping for, I am the one in the grocery store reading all the labels and comparing prices. That is why I usually go shopping alone, that way I can take my time with out making someone wait around for me to make up my mind. Anyway, I did find some bargains and I did find time to mine the archives for some eye candy and my video in box for your entertainment. I have Nuke, Holly Oaks, Davey Wavey and just especially for the Lunch Lady some Clay Aiken. I am counting down the days until my departure and tomorrow I will be counting hours instead of days. I am so ready to get on with it and be done with this chapter of my life. Patience is a virtue that I did not come equipped with at birth but have learned over the years to not chomp so hard at the bit. Enjoy the videos and the eye candy and I will catch you here again tomorrow.

Transition Delayed

Wednesday was a most frustrating day. What began with anticipation for the coming transition ended in disappointment and delay. I awoke with smile on my face in anticipation of the days events only to have the ship sink at the dock. I had everything packed except for my shaving kit and computer as I wanted to be prepared to load up and leave whenever Taj arrived. I packed up my shaving kit but before taking the computer down I went next door to inquire of S R the exact timing of the days expected events. When I asked him the plan of the day he replied "Oh, you're not going until Sunday and we will get you some money before you leave". I was literally stunned speechless. Just who had decided this? At what time was it decided? And finally, when were you planning on telling me? As late as the night before all systems were go and I was to be ready to when Taj arrived. I was prepared to go as it only takes a moment to unhook the computer and wrap the glass tops to the desk in blankets. I was not upset with Taj for not coming as it was S R that told me to be ready Wednesday morning for the move as I exited the restaurant in the lobby on Monday. I had spoken with Taj on Sunday and his plan was to load up my belongings along with the assets from this property being sent to Little Rock and for me to travel with him in his vehicle. I was totally OK with this, so I was surprised on Monday when S R told me to be ready to go on Wednesday, but no biggie as sooner was much preferable to later as far as I was concerned. I had said my goodbyes, celebrated my leaving on a new adventure with my friends on Tuesday night and was ready to shake the dust of Dallas off my feet as I headed out of town. The whole point to leaving on Wednesday was so I could be prepared to go to work on the first day of the new pay period which begins on Saturday. Now it will be four days into the new period before I get my first hours on the clock but I will still be able to end up with enough hours for nearly a full check. Again no biggie but I would have preferred to have been kept in the loop for planning purposes. So basically I am in a holding pattern here in Big D until Sunday. This is really OK with me, I am just P O with the way S R has handled everything so far. I will be so very glad to get out from under his influence on the events in my life. I have no doubts the transition will take place on Sunday as the city is locking the doors and fencing off the property on Monday morning in preparation for the demolition of the buildings and conversion of the property to a staging area for the highway improvements set to begin shortly. I have reset the countdown clock and will be waiting semi-patiently for it expire while trying not to unpack anything not absolutely necessary to pass the time involved.

With all the B S over and done with I now have some time to kill. I used some of it to peruse my photo collection for some eye candy for your viewing pleasure. Instead of sitting in my room staring at the boxes containing my life, today I will indulge myself with a little shopping therapy for some additions to my wardrobe. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
